Fermented beans soup (kima ko jhol)

Fermented beans soup (kinema ko jhol) is the traditional rai food . it might not smell very pleasant for the first timers. However it is very nutritious and delicious.
Ingredients :
  • Fermented beans – 1½ cups
  • Onion (chopped) – 1 nos
  • Garlic (smashed) – 3 bulbs
  • Tomato (chopped) – 2 nos
  • Turmeric powder- ½ tea spoon
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - few
  • Whole dried red chilli – 1 nos
  • Fenu-greek seeds – few
  • Oil – 4 tea spoon
  • Salt – to taste
Methods:
·         Soak the fermented beans in water for half an hour.
·         Heat oil and temper fenugreek seeds, whole dried red chilli & smashed garlic.
·         Add chopped onion and fry till golden brown.
·         Drain the fermented from water. Put aside the remaining water.
·         Add the fermented and cook on low heat till it starts sticking to the pan.
·         Add the left over water.
·         Leave to boil for 7-8 minutes on medium heat
·         Add coriander leaves before serving.
·         Serve hot with rice and curry.
